Ethiopian Food & Drug Authority and Empower Swiss SARL have Signed memorandum of understanding (MOU)
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) and Empower Swiss SARL have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This partnership aims to build up regulatory capacity and encourage teamwork in the pharmaceutical and health fields.
At the signing ceremony, EFDA Director General Heran Gerba spoke about the Authority’s goal of becoming a leading center of excellence in Africa. She highlighted EFDA’s strong desire to grow into a regional training hub, helping regulatory professionals gain the skills they need. With heartfelt thanks, she recognized Empower Swiss SARL for leading this important initiative and extended her appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia for its key role in making this agreement happen.
Professor Paul Lalvani, Director and Founder of Empower Swiss SARL, shared his thoughts on the organization’s close work with EFDA over the past six months. He pointed out the efforts made to find out where support is most needed. He emphasized that this MOU is much more than just a formal agreement; it’s a strategic step designed to bring real benefits to the country. He also praised EFDA’s strong leadership under Heran Gerba and expressed his belief that this partnership will achieve great results for both sides.
Haimanot Abera, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, reaffirmed the Ministry’s firm commitment to supporting EFDA. She stressed the importance of working together to meet the country’s regulatory needs effectively and sustainably.
