Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority’s Advisory Board Holds Its Meeting
Addis Ababa, August 15, 2025: The Advisory Board established in accordance with Council of Ministers Regulation No. 531/2023, which defines its organization, powers, and responsibilities, has conducted its first meeting.
The advisory board was established to advise the authority on policy, short- and long-term strategic plans and annual plan, address gaps, and provide recommendations on critical and strategic issues to strengthen and enhance the authority. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held, and the board approved its internal regulation that will govern its operations.
The board is set to convene its regular meeting every three months. Its members include 11 high-ranking government officials from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Ethiopian Agricultural Authority, Ethiopian Standards Institute, Ethiopian Federal Police Commission, Armauer Hansen Research Institute, Ethiopian Customs Commission, Ethiopian Technology Authority, and Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority.
The board also reviewed the performance report for the 2017 fiscal year and plan for the 2018 fiscal year. Additionally, the board discussed the status and activities on progress towards achieving Maturity Level 3.
